AIC3Pro, Precis-Ion Air Ion Counter for Professionals
Attention: No sale of this product to private individuals!
The Precis-Ion™ Air Ion Counter Model AIC3Pro is a Gerdien condenser air ion meter.
During operation, a blower draws air, and the electrical charge from air ions (charged air molecules) is measured.
The air ion count is calculated and displayed.
Please note: solids do not produce ions unless there is an energy source (such as radioactivity, high voltage or heat above about 600° C). For example, neither tourmaline nor "diodes" produce any ions at room temperature unless radioactive material has been added. However, liquids evaporating can produce ions.
The AIC3Pro’s rechargeable Li battery typically provides 7 hours of continuous operation.
The meter may be charged with the supplied USB cable/charger. The meter may also be charged via USB port on a PC, laptop, or USB power pack. The meter can be operated indefinitely while charging.
Air ion measurements can be recorded on the supplied (user accessible) Micro SD card.
Date/time stamped air Ion levels, temperature and humidity are recorded in a standard spread sheet format.
Recording intervals are selectable.
The display shows either negative or positive readings or both simultaneously, plus the sum of positive and negative readings.
In addition to these ambient air temperature and humidity are displayed.
Via the push-buttons and the menu ion polarity or dual read mode can be selected and the meter can be set to standby/idle to zero any offset value.
Also peak count can be selected or reset.
A static shield is supplied with the instrument to minimize electric field interference when measuring ions at low levels ( 2 million scale).
This shield must be removed when measuring high ion levels (100 million scale).
Furthermore supplied is a 3-in-1 combination accessory that can be used as a table-top kickstand or as a wall mount or as a tripod mount.

* The unpredictable nature of ion self-destruction in the air just outside the meter makes more accurate measurement impossible (some ions are lost as air is redirected, positive and negative ions neutralize each other spontaneously, etc.)
